Ok, so yesterday i took a break from the studio - by going to the studio! My friend Komlaa was recording an acoustic tune at Soho Recording studios and asked me to drop by. I did and ended up doing backing vocals and laying down a guitar hook! The motto here - get me while I'm cheap - LOL!

I'm back in the fuckin lab! It's been too damn long! But it's all good cos the mosnters I'm creating are looking extra scary and that's beautiful!

The last couple of weeks have been hectic! I've been gettign busy! DId a mega gig at shutn and wriitng for the new album - the album title is sick and the album itself is gonna be SICKER! I can't tell you too much but I can say there's gonna be a few guests on this one, including:

Robbie from Milk Plus, Visitor Q, Ebony Bones
Aaron from Olympus Mons is producing a track
Otto Fischer will be doing the same
Jamil from the Irrepressibles has already laid down some vibes - yep vibes!
Bobbie Gardner has laid some sweet piano - yeah piano

And I've even played this 12-string beast on it already (different colour though - cream)



it promises to be heavier AND fnkier AND groovier AND well it's gonna be nuts, what more can I say - well a lot but for now I saying FUCK IT, LET'S DO IT!

HMP London - 'Same city but a different street, same officers but a different beat '

About a year ago I was stopped and searched on my way home as I left Elephant & Castle Tube about midnight. I remember being asked - 'Do you live here, how long have you lived here?' by a policewoman with a very strong Australian accent - which I found ironic, while their male police officers arrested some teenage girls because they refused to be searched by men - not so much!

This and a few other incidents inspired this song. The pic above is some graffiti that some other people who i guess feel similar have put up around London.

INSPIRATION: Songs that changed my life: Metallica - Battery

You know those times when you hear something so fuckin unbelievable that it changes your life and you never forget the moment? When I first heard Battery by Metallica was one of those times. I was in Scotland and I was listening to a certain radio station and it’s a metal show playing and suddenly out of nowhere I hear these classical chords and time stopped:

It's funny cos they do some interesting time changes which you don't really notice unless you try to play it and the chorus ain't a whole lot different to the verse but you don't notice it's kinda clever! The guitar solo is also one of my all time favourites!!!

Yeah I got one of these now - a blog. Sheeet! What has the world come to. Anyway I'll be posting things up as and when i feel like it. It might be some music I'm working on, it might be an interview with another artist I've done for Is Black Music? Oh - if you're here and you don't know who I am, well I'm Yinka - I front a band called SABATTA - sabatta.net, myspace,.com./sabatta, I currently co-host a show called Is Black Music? the brainchild of Art Terry on resonancefm.com 104.4FM. I'm a musician but i do have a habit of reporting from the frontline and have been do so for about a year for the radio show!
